Forest Road Park Closure
Consistent with our commitment for transparency with our residents, Hilltown Township is advising the community of damage to the stormwater basin located at Forest Road Park. We understand that this park, along with many others throughout our Township, is a high traffic area for residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors and utilize our walking paths. Despite its utility for outdoor activities, the Township must maintain the safety of everyone as a priority and the decision has been made to close Forest Road Park until further notice.
Earlier this week, our staff dutifully reported a potentially significant structural concern located within the basin of the park, at which time it was fenced off. The Department of Environmental Protection has since been contacted and is working with the Township to determine the root cause and extent of the damage.
While we work through our evaluation, we respectfully request that our community not enter the park until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to those who frequent Forest Road Park and invite you all to enjoy our other parks within the Township. Thank you for your patience while we handle this matter.
