PennDOT Announces Bridge Replacement Project on Route 113 in Hilltown Township, Bucks County

PennDOT Announces Bridge Replacement Project on Route 113 in Hilltown Township, Bucks County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that construction will begin on Monday, January 20, to replace the bridge carrying Route 113 (Souderton Road) over the Branch of Mill Creek in Hilltown Township, Bucks County.

Travel Restrictions

Motorists are advised that Route 113 (Souderton Road) will be closed between Bethlehem Pike and Diamond Street from January 20 through late May. During this closure, traffic will be redirected to alternative routes including Diamond Street, Route 152 (East Park Avenue), and Bethlehem Pike.

Trucks will also be diverted to Route 152 (East Walnut Street/East Park Avenue) and Bethlehem Pike to navigate around the closure area.

All traffic will be detoured during construction, click detour map below.

About the Project

The existing bridge is a 10’ long single-span reinforced concrete slab constructed in 1922.  The bridge carries Route 113 (Souderton Road) over a branch of Mill Creek in Hilltown Township, Bucks County.  The structure is in overall poor condition.

The project involves the replacement of the existing structure with a slightly longer single-span concrete box culvert.

The project also includes the replacement of the guide rail, signing, and pavement markings.
