The Hilltown Township Police Department is seeking highly motivated and qualified individuals to join us as a Police Officer. The Township covers 27 square miles with both dense commercial and residential development and rural farmland. The Department has provided contracted police services to the Borough of Silverdale for over 30 years. We serve a population of approximately 17,000. The Department is authorized for 19 sworn members and 3 civilian personnel. We are dedicated to mitigating the impact of crime on our community and improving the quality of life for those we serve. We are partners with our community and committed to providing excellent law enforcement services to everyone that lives, works and visits our community.
The Department is currently in the PLEAC Accreditation process and in the planning stage of expanding and modernizing our Department facility to better serve the public. We offer excellent training and a wide range of specialty assignments for interested officers, including Narcotics Investigations, Crash Team, Special Response Team, MIRT, CSU, UAS, Bike Patrol and a Quality of Life Squad, plus a variety of certified instructors. Our Patrol Division works 12-hour rotating shifts.

Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma (or GED)
- Candidates with ACT 120 Certification by the Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) or currently enrolled in a PA Certified Police Academy preferred but not required
- At least 21 Years of Age
- S. Citizen
- Valid Driver’s License
- 20 Mile Residency Requirement within 2 Years of Hire
- Ability to Perform all Duties of a Police Officer
Selection Procedure:
